Most people that I talk to about buying a first home cannot answer that question with any amount of conviction.

Some people have told me that they might as well give up buying their first home and that they have resigned themselves to the fact that they would have to rent for the rest of their lives.

That is often because friends and family have shared their stories with them on being declined for a home loan, or they have been paying too much attention to the media talk about housebuying.

It is amazing some people still believe that you need a 20% deposit to buy a home. It is just not true. You can buy a home with a deposit from as little as 5% currently.
